Travis Industries designs and builds beautiful fireplaces, and they wanted a web site that reflects that same level of quality.
J Street designed the user experience, custom database, and this dynamic and friendly web application. Customers can learn about fireplace types,
choose their options, see customized photos, print out fireplace specs and find a local dealer.
Technologies include ASP.NET, CSS, Ajax, Linq, SQL Server and Access.
We used an Access administrative console to allow users to set up all the data necessary to drive the public-facing site.
Those configurable values are used on pages such as this one, which allows the customer to choose their starting point for their fireplace.
The customer can make more choices to narrow their selection to the fireplaces that will suit their home. Again, these
values are configurable in the database using the administration console, as are links to all of the photos.
Now things get interesting! The customer has specified criteria to help them select a model that will work. Now they can
customize it using many optional components, and see how it will look against different backgrounds. All of these are displayed dynamically
using photo overlays. Again, all of the options and photo links are configured in the admin console.
When the customer is all done building their perfect fire, they can print out the custom photo and the specs, then find
their local dealer using address proximity searching. Try it out yourself here.
